Sutherland Pearsall luxury condos to feature onShore hotWire
Parc Orleans & The Grand on Grand wired for high-speed internet

The ten story, 60 unit Parc Orleans at 1546 N. Orleans and the 28 story, 111 unit The Grand on Grand at 200 W. Grand will both include onShore hotWire internet services in their condominium residents' general assessments.

Using a robust, scalable networking technology, onShore is wiring both buildings for business-quality, high-speed internet access. onShore's switched ethernet will deliver 100Mb to residents' desktops—a rate 70 times faster than DSL—and will not require them to purchase any additional equipment.

After working with onShore on Domain, the condo conversion of the former Montgomery Ward's warehouse, general contractor Bill Griffith of Linn-Mathes, Inc. recommended hiring onShore early in the design process to "help make some sense of the technology" and design The Grand on Grand's wiring "backbone" and determine "what to put in the walls".

"We went with onShore because our buildings need to meet the most aggressive demands for high speed internet connections," said Mark Sutherland of Sutherland Pearsall Development Corp., "We wire our buildings for the future – 'future-proofing' them." onShore's Multi-tenant Data Network provides for future technologies by allowing multiple vendors of internet provider (IP)-based services, such as streaming media, voice-over-IP and data back-up, to share a high-bandwidth pipeline to a building's residents.

Condominiums in the Parc Orleans, which will be available in mid-December, range from one bedroom units in the $250,000's to three bedrooms in the $450,000's, including parking. The Grand on Grand's units also include parking and range from the $290,000's for one bedroom to the $490,000's for three bedrooms. They will be available in early 2004. Both developments have some choice units still available.

In addition to Sutherland Pearsall's two new developments, onShore has hotWired nine other Chicago residential buildings: North Pier Tower, Clark Place, Dearborn Tower, Huron Pointe, One River Place, Wells Street Tower, Domain, Museum Park, and 1001 Madison.
